Following his time teaching, he was again assigned to the Pacific Theater as the Chief, Space Branch, with the Strategic Programs Division, US Army Pacific (2011-2014).

Following graduation, he was assigned as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the United States Military Academy at West Point (2007-2011). He was accepted as a Functional Area 40 (Space Operations Officer) in 2005, and attended Advanced Civil Schooling at the Naval Postgraduate School from 2005-2007. Following the Field Artillery Officer Advance Course, he was assigned to 1-21 Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Calvary Division, Fort Hood, TX from 2001-2005, where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer, a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Battery Commander, and a Motorized Rifle Infantry Company Commander (Baghdad, Iraq: 2004-2005). He received his commission as a Field Artillery Officer through ROTC from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1997, and following Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, was assigned to 2-11 Field Artillery Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI from 1998-2001, where he served as a Fire Support Officer, Fire Direction Officer, and Battery Executive Officer.
